1、合理選址兔場選址時要考慮長毛兔的生活習性，通常將兔場設在地勢較高、氣候干燥、背坡向陽的山區與丘陵地帶，遠離交通主干道?？梢灾苯淤徺I籠子飼養，或者是建造兔舍，兔舍可采用磚砌墻配合水泥地面建造，舍頂可采用雙坡式結構，用水泥、瓦片、秸稈等材料建造。

2、飼喂管理長毛兔飼料選擇上，可選取胡蘿卜、谷芽、麥芽等，配合食用糖、植物油等增加適口性。長毛兔生長對硫元素需求量較打，飼料中可以添加硫酸鋅，可以促進多長毛。為實現長毛兔穩產、高產的飼養目標，還需注重飼料的穩定性，避免中途更換飼料配方。

3、適時配種在進行種兔選擇時應當為配種旺季做好儲備，種公兔與種母兔比例控制在1∶10左右，配種頻次控制在2次/日以內。配種期間要確保公兔和母兔保持足夠的運動量、曬足陽光，并在日糧中增添青綠飼料;可將麥麩、魚粉等加入公兔飼料中，馬鈴薯、白菜等加入到母兔飼料中，以保障種兔營養充足。當公兔與母兔完成次交配后，可在8～10小時后復配。

4、科學采毛根據采毛周期來進行科學飼喂，夏季應適當縮短剪毛間隔。長毛兔的采毛方法主要有拔毛與剪毛2種，粗毛型兔宜采用手拔毛，絨毛型兔則以剪毛方式為好。母兔在臨近分娩時，不能剪毛，可以安排在配種前。

5、日常管理毛兔采毛后冬季要注意保暖，夏季要避免陽光直射，平時定期梳毛，及時草屑、糞便等，避免感染病菌。每天要及時清理養殖場以及兔舍衛生，隔5-7天對養殖場的兔籠、水槽進行，避免細菌感染。

6、防疫為了防止傳染病的侵入，引種時，要從非疫區購買。購買后要隔離飼養兩周以上，確認無病后可以放入兔場飼養。飼養人員要求在更衣、換鞋、洗手后進入兔舍，進入場區的大門口應設池。兔舍、兔籠要堅持每天清掃一次，每周帶兔一次。
