　　維持種兔的身體狀況是提高蒙陰長毛兔繁殖能力的重要措施之一。繁殖季節(jié)到來前，應(yīng)逐漸增加蛋白質(zhì)飼料、礦物質(zhì)、維生素的量。對(duì)于過于肥胖的種兔，應(yīng)適當(dāng)限制高能量飼料的用量，對(duì)于過于瘦弱的種兔，應(yīng)加強(qiáng)飼喂，以維持繁殖的體況，使種兔性功能旺盛。

　　正常情況下，只要母兔發(fā)情正常，公兔精液質(zhì)量良好，只需交配一次即可懷孕。但為了保證母兔受孕，防止假孕，同一只公兔可在次配種后6-8小時(shí)再次交配。次交配的目的是刺激母兔排卵，第二次交配的目的是正式受孕。據(jù)實(shí)驗(yàn)，重復(fù)繁殖的受胎率可達(dá)95%-100%，每窩產(chǎn)仔數(shù)為6-8頭。

　　一只母兔與兩只不同血緣關(guān)系的公兔連續(xù)交配，交配間隔時(shí)間不超過20-30分鐘。目的是利用不同公兔的精子相互競(jìng)爭(zhēng)，以提高卵子的受精率。同時(shí)，由于優(yōu)良精子和卵子結(jié)合數(shù)量的增加，兔子的生命力就會(huì)旺盛，成活率也會(huì)很高。據(jù)實(shí)驗(yàn)，采用雙配的受胎率比對(duì)照組提高25%-30%，產(chǎn)仔數(shù)增加10%-20%。但雙配只能用于商品兔生產(chǎn)，不能用于種兔生產(chǎn)。
