長毛兔以食草為主，適當(dāng)搭配精料。兔的盲腸相當(dāng)發(fā)達(dá)，長度約與兔體相等，對粗纖維的消化能力較強，僅次于牛、羊。產(chǎn)毛兔每日約需0.5公斤青飼料、100～150克配合飼料。長毛兔喜食的青飼料很多，如苜蓿、菜葉、各種樹葉、沙打旺、花生秧、紅薯秧及各種野菜等，冬季可喂曬制的青干草。
